What is it?
FACE (Financial Aid for College Educations) is a one-of-a-kind community outreach program and fundraiser that helps parents with 11th grade, college-bound high school students who want to make an attempt to lower the astronomical cost of college and eliminate the unknowns and hassels of filling out the FAFSA and other financial aid forms. For a just a $50 donation to your club, parents receive a service they desperately search for, have paid others hundreds of dollars for, and urgently need. Booster clubs, teams, PTO’s and virtually any organization that does fundraising can utilize FACE and raise $10,000 a year in just a few short months with very little effort.
Background:
Everyone must complete a FAFSA to apply for
- Federal aid,
- State and collegiate grants and scholarships,
- Work-study,
- Non-need based Federal loans,
- Unsubsidized and subsidized Stafford loans,
- PLUS loans,
- Even for certain merit aid and private scholarships.
Just like students taking a practice SAT test to see how they will score before taking the real thing, the FACE community outreach program shows parents how their answers on the FAFSA and other financial aid forms will directly affect their ability to receive grants and scholarships (financial aid that doesn’t need to be paid back) and what can be done before they file so they don’t lose what they would otherwise be entitled to receive. It’s like knowing the answers to the test before you take it.
FACE Gives Students A Huge Advantage Over Other Students
Instead of cost being the deciding factor, students may now have a chance to apply to the college of their dreams where they are academically suited and qualified to attend. With a Pre-FAFSA filing evaluation and the one-on-one professional guidance each family receives, students can improve and open up college opportunities that before were out of the question because of price. It is all too sad that because of family budgets, many parents restrict their child to applying to less expensive state colleges or even only to the local community college because of costs. FACE can open new doors where that same student might be afforded the new prospect of attending an expensive and prestigious private university because of the additional eligibility of financial aid, grants, scholarships, tuition discounts, etc. that just wasn’t available before.

Not covered at high schools’ FAFSA and Financial Aid Nights for obvious reasons, parents are left out in the cold when it comes to understanding the formulas and different methodologies, rules and regulations governing financial aid eligibility and what you can do before you file your forms to lower your out of pocket costs.
Parents won’t have the guesswork and stress doing the FAFSA and applying for aid because they will have the answer sheets long before filing day- not to mention the elimination of the top causes that destroy a student’s chances for receiving grants, scholarships and student loans:
- believing in myths and misconceptions,
- deadlines being missed,
- forms getting bounced,
- unintentional errors or omissions
How it Works
FACE works like this:
- Promote the FACE program by sending the ( See Sample) Flyer to parents of high school juniors-class of 2012.
- Deposit the checks when they are mailed in- Strict count of 200 maximum per approved organization please.
- Forward parent contact information to FACE Center.
That’s all there is to it!
Each family will receive a private and strictly confidential phone conference to formulate an individual and custom FAFSA analysis outlining their current FAFSA eligibility, college costs and financial aid posture. In comparison, this report demonstrates how to maximize eligibility for federal, state and collegiate grants and scholarships as well as low-cost student loans so parents and students receive the money for college that they might otherwise lose. Highly sought after by many parents with college-bound children, this community outreach program can be monumental for families who are inexperienced and unaware of how their answers will affect their chances of receiving the money that is so urgently needed today to help pay for the astronomical costs of college- regardless of their incomes.
Little Effort & No Costs
No money is ever needed from your club. You collect whatever you can up to 200 donors. You do little work other than promote the fundraiser, collect and deposit the checks and forward the donar’s e-mail address. The bottom line is that your parents get an extremely valuable and timely service for just $50 and your club gets the badly needed funds to help ease the pain of the current budget cuts and rising operating costs that are being felt everywhere.
Limited Availability
Time is of the essence and there is only so many we can help- as the saying goes, “…you know, we can’t do this all day.” In order to reserve your 200 family spaces for your booster club to receive the $10,000 in donations, you must inform me ASAP that you wish to apply to use FACE as a fundraiser.
Just like financial aid, FACE is being offered to booster clubs on a first-come, first-served basis. Sponsorships and logistics limit the number of clubs that we can accept into the program. If this is something that your Marching Band or Sports Booster Club or PTA et.al. would like to consider, it is in your best interest to contact me ASAP. Once the reservations and arrangements for 2011-2012 are filled, there is nothing I can do.
